My Temporary Home in Cambodia – 10 Days at Hari Residence & Spa

I love boutique-style hotels, and this one was perfect for my first trip to Cambodia.

WHERE I STAYED

If you’re planning a trip to Cambodia and want something central, modern, and relaxing, definitely give this place a look.

Hari Residence Hotel and Spa is a boutique-style hotel located right in the heart of Siem Reap's Old Market area on BBU Road. It's about 45–60 minutes from the new Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport.

Breakfast was included in my stay and served buffet-style each morning. They had a good mix of Western and local Cambodian options. There were lots of fresh fruits, toast, croissants, yogurt, cereals, and a hot food section with fried rice, noodles, vegetables, and sausages.

One cool thing: if you’re up early for an Angkor Wat sunrise tour, they’ll pack a breakfast box for you to take along. Super handy!

During my stay, I usually walked to the market from the hotel. The streets were busy but fun to explore, full of little shops, street food stalls, and locals going about their day.

We also spent some time on the rooftop in the morning and at night. It was small but a nice place to relax and enjoy the view.

Lobby moments with my friends.

As someone who loves unique, boutique-style hotels, this one was perfect for my first visit to Cambodia.

The design was modern but had beautiful Cambodian touches everywhere. There were wooden furniture, traditional carvings, local artwork, and soft lighting.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and I didn’t have any problems with the Wi-Fi.

Overall, I really liked the place. It was comfortable, clean, and close to everything. I also appreciated their effort to be eco-friendly. But what really stood out was how nice and helpful the staff were.

I remember one of the employees gave me and my friends a little tour around the hotel. She was super kind and helpful.

Since we visited during the off-season, the hotel wasn’t very crowded, which made the whole experience feel more peaceful and laid-back.

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you find the perfect spot in Siem Reap, just like Hari Residence was for me.

Happy travels! Until the next check-in!

There was a kettle in the room and two bottles of water every day. Drinking water is served in glass bottles, not plastic.

A sleek hotel key card

The bathroom wasn’t super fancy, but it had everything I needed for a good stay.

Hari Residence & Spa is eco-friendly, which I really appreciated. They avoid using single-use plastic bottles and instead provide refillable containers for shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

When I arrived, the staff were super friendly and made me feel welcome right away.

You could hear the city in the background: scooters passing by, dogs barking, and the usual street sounds. But it didn’t bother me at all. I know some guests have complained about the noise, but for me, it’s just part of being in the city.

The hotel opened in early 2018—officially on January 13, 2018, according to their Facebook page. I stayed there for 10 days in September 2018, so it was still pretty new at the time.

You can walk to Pub Street, the Old Market, and the night markets in just a few minutes. Even Angkor Wat is only about a 10-minute drive, which made getting around super easy. If you want to explore on your own, bike rentals are also available close by.
